I grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and I attended Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin, and in 1985 received degrees in History and in Music. I graduated from UW-Madison Law School in May, 1991. I live in Stoughton, Wisconsin, and I have two wonderful children with whom I am extremely proud, Jack and Sadie. My partner, Katy Hopkins, is also a music degree holder from Lawrence University, and she plays oboe professionally and repairs woodwind musical instruments, Yahara River Woodwinds. I have been involved in many charitable organizations over the years, and regularly assist charities with legal and non-legal work. We live on the beautiful Yahara River in Stoughton, Wisconsin, and we enjoy kayaking, boating, sitting on the dock and enjoying all of the nature trails and downtown shopping and dining in the Stoughton area. We also love to spend time in Madison. While time is limited, I play guitar and still compose music. I love to fish, hike, and play all sports. I believe in being a good, honest, hard-working and charitable person. My largest source of pride is my children. I believe in giving back, and as Mike Ditka often says, I try to “Do The Right Thing”.
